The annual charity fair the “57th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar” is returning to Siam Paragon from 17-19 May 2024, at Paragon Hall and online at www.iredcross.org

The much-anticipated annual charity shopping event - The 57th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar is returning! Organized by the Thai Red Cross Society in close cooperation with spouses of diplomats and their embassies based in Thailand from over 57 countries, this year's event will feature a plethora of quality international products and more than 224 booths.  Under "Shop for a Cause" concept,  the fair will take place between 17-19 May 2024 at Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Online shopping is also available at www.iredcross.org. Proceeds from the event will support the operations of the Thai Red Cross Society.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society, will graciously preside over the opening ceremony of the 57th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar on 17 May 2024, at 8:30 a.m. at Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon.

At the press conference on 3 May 2024 at Infinity Hall, Paragon Cineplex, Siam Paragon, the Fundraising Bureau of the Thai Red Cross Society in collaboration with Siam Paragon announced the details of "The 57th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar." Attended were Mr. Khan Prachuabmoh, Director of the Fundraising Bureau of the Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS), was joined by Madam Amanda Jane McDonald, the spouse of the New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand and the Chairperson of Diplomatic Participant Committee of the 57th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar, and Madam Pratchaya Singh, spouse of Ambassador of the Republic of India to Thailand and the Raffle Director of the 2024 Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar. At press conference, attendees had the exclusive opportunity to browse and shop for pre-sale products from various countries.

 

 

Mr. Khan Prachuabmoh, Fundraising Director of the Thai Red Cross Society, highlighted the significance of the 57th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar, stating, “The Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar is a fundraising activity organized annually by the Thai Red Cross Society in collaboration with spouses of diplomats. It aims to foster and strengthen cooperative relationships among the Thai Red Cross Society, the diplomatic corps, diplomatic spouses, various consulates, government agencies, the private sector, and agencies within the Thai Red Cross Society. It is also an activity organized to help promote the mission of the Thai Red Cross Society as a public charity organization that carries out humanitarian missions, including medical services, relief efforts, blood services, and initiatives to enhance the quality of life for the poor, underprivileged, and victims of various disasters.”

“This year marks the first edition of the charity event selling Thai Red Cross souvenirs and offering the Thai Red Cross raffle tickets through the online platform of the Fundraising Bureau of the Thai Red Cross Society at www.iredcross.org. This initiative opens a new channel for people of all genders and ages, residents from all over the world, to contribute to a good cause with the Thai Red Cross Society.”

 

 

Madam Amanda Jane McDonald, the spouse of the New Zealand Ambassador in Thailand and the Chairperson of the Diplomatic Participant Committee, shared details about this year's event: “Last year, we were able to raise over ten million baht funds from the Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar, from the sale of products, event tickets, and the raffle tickets organized by diplomatic spouses. The proceeds have been allocated to support various projects that benefit impoverished individuals in Thailand incluusing King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, The Thai Red Cross Society as well as the Center of Medical Excellence for Burns and Scalds at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Center, the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer (QSCBC), the Excellence Center for Parkinson’s Disease & Related Disorders, the Thai Red Cross Society’s Emergency Disaster Relief Funds, the Project for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery for Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate, the 100 Years, 100 Eyes: Restoring Hope Through Cataract Surgery Project for Underprivileged Patients, and the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of H.M. The Queen.  We hope that this year we will gain support from the public, through the purchase of merchandise and Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar raffle tickets, like every year.”

 

 

The 57th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar is presenting products from more than 57 countries around the world at great prices, including food, consumer products, clothing, accessories, home decor, and more. The event also features popular consumer home products from the United States, skincare made from Bulgarian roses, shower gels and lotions from Spain, pure argan oil from Morocco, cashmere clothing, shirts, scarves, shawls, and leather goods from Mongolia, glassware from the Czech Republic, as well as local products from Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, and China. Additionally, products from the Royal Project shop and OTOP products from Thailand are available. This year, new countries are participating for the first time, namely Austria and Saudi Arabia.

Also, this year's highlight is the sale of limited-edition shopping cart available exclusively at the event and online, priced at 500 baht. The design is inspired by the "Gerbera flower," chosen for its symbolic meaning "love." Love is happiness, fun, and joy shared among people. The flowers  always turns towards the sun, radiating freshness and brightness. The cart also celebrates the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th birthday cycle (72nd birthday anniversary).

Another special feature not to be missed is the Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar raffle tickets, priced at 50 baht each. The prize draw will take place on the last day of the event, 19 May 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The results will be announced on the Facebook fan pages: Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar and Redcrossfundraising.

 

 

This year's Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar has received generous support from both the government and private sectors. Some of the key supporters include Heritage Snacks and Food Company Limited, I.C.C. International Public Company Limited, Phiboonchai Maepranom Thai Chili Paste Company Limited, the Office of The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), B.Grimm, Mega Lifesciences PTY Company Limited, PM 80 Company Limited, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, DDS Mayfair Clinic, Bangkok Hospital, Cashmere Artisan Company Limited, Thai Jintan Company Limited, Tanawat Industrial Company Limited.
