  • Highlighting Central EastVille to promote environmentally friendly lifestyle through 4 ‘stations’: Driving an EV, shopping for eco-products, sorting waste at recycling stations, and creating a green vegetable sharing society at Farm Lab – receive additional 40 The1 points when using each ‘station’.
  • Preparing to give away The1 points in the mid-year-sale campaign when shopping with leading green brands in the shopping center zone and donating second-hand clothes through the ‘Think Dee’ drop point.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Central Pattana plc highlights the importance of the 'Planet' (the world and the environment), by aiming to be the first mixed-use developer with a long-term plan to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. This continues further from the concept of ‘Journey to Net Zero’ and the intent of the brand, 'Imagining Better Futures for All' to support customers who are planet-conscious. Central Pattana supports the changes to a more environmentally friendly lifestyle through our Central shopping centers nationwide and on the occasion of the 40th anniversary, the company is giving away 40,000 free seedlings to customers to create their own green area, starting from 17 June onwards. Customers are also invited to participate in eco-lifestyle activities at Central EastVille and are eligible to receive an additional 40 The1 points when using the services at each ‘station’ and donating unused clothes at ‘Think Dee’ point throughout June, the month of World Environment Day.

Ms. Naparat Sriwanvit, Chief Financial Officer and Senior Executive Vice President, Finance, Accounting and Risk Management and Sustainability of Central Pattana plc said: “The company has prioritized ‘Better Planet’ as one of our company driving plans with a roadmap to reduce the carbon footprint and business pollution to zero. Shopping centers, residential projects, office buildings and hotels nationwide are aiming to reduce energy usage by 50% and minimize the use of CFCs, which destroy the atmosphere, as well as promoting clean energy by 50%. In addition, we also aim to grow up to 1 million plants and trees to add green areas to both the inside and outside of our development projects.

To save energy, Central Pattana has installed solar cells at 18 shopping centers nationwide, which are able to produce electricity up to 19 million kilowatts per hour – equal to a third of the electricity produced by the Ubol Ratana Dam. The company has also managed to use 424 million liters of recycled water, comparable to 170 Olympic swimming pools, in addition to supporting 63 EV charging points at 28 branches nationwide, which can provide a fill-up charging service to 150 electric vehicles per day.

In addition, Central Pattana is continuing with its waste management for its shopping centers and other business groups by encouraging customers, shops and employees to sort different types of waste properly and appropriately including recycling and upcycling, as well as reducing the amount of waste in landfills. These have been implemented through various campaigns such as the Think Dee Program and the installation of Recycling Stations at Central EastVille, Central Si Racha and the latest installation, Central Ayutthaya and a soon-to-be completed in gGarden project of GLAND. This is to ensure that each type of waste will be handled with care for the environment. The company sorts up to 4,600 tons of waste per year and has also reduced landfill – waste equivalent to the capacity weight of 168 large shipping containers.

From the beginning of project initiatives and designs, the company raises the standard for its future projects as energy-saving buildings and reduces the amount of construction waste as much as possible by incorporating both national and international green building standards into its mixed-use projects. Central Pattana has piloted its prototypes of the most comprehensive eco-friendly malls in terms of energy saving, waste management and providing green space for customers to participate in recreational activities. The company's eco-friendly projects are such as Central EastVille and Central Si Racha.

This year, Central EastVille eco-friendly mall is encouraging and promoting an ‘Eco-lifestyle Journey’ for customers through its four service points to help save the planet and receive an additional 40 The1 points when using services from each ‘station’. The four ‘stations’: driving an EV, shopping for eco-products at EcoVille event, sorting waste at recycling stations, and creating a green vegetable sharing society at Farm Lab. Central EastVille has recently launched FARMLAB, a creative green space on the SKYRUN, 3rd floor. Central EastVille has joined hands with YIP IN TSOI, MA DELUX, INNORCHARD, Farm Lek Lek, Uncle Check Farm and Neramitkaset to create a wellness community on over 400 m2 of rooftop as an inspirational city getaway under the concept of ‘Shared Value Space’ to exchange possible and practical experiences through daily life, with many creative activities. The official launch for the wellness community is on 5 June 2022 from 4PM onwards. Special privileges for guests who register to attend the event: simply bring your own cloth bag, cup and food container and shop at the event, get 100 The 1 points (first 200 members only). In addition, at the end of June, Central EastVille is also preparing to host an eco-products fair entitled ECOVILLE 2022 from 23-29 June 2022 at the activity zone on the 1st floor.

At other branches, customers who want to save the planet can help by adding a green area to their home as the company is joining hands with the Royal Forest Department to give away over 40,000 seedlings at all branches nationwide on the occasion of Central Pattana’s 40-year anniversary. Customers can receive free seedlings at seedling giveaway points starting from 17 June onwards. In additions, be prepared to enjoy green promotions in our large mid-year sales campaign, where The1 points will be given away to all customers who care for the planet.
