Central Pattana, launches ‘Central Hygiene & Safe Plus+’ measures, emphasising its leader in hygiene and safety with COVID-FREE shopping centers, ready for re-opening on 1 September

  • Staff’s readiness: with vaccinated employees, all employees must take an ATK test on the first day of re-opening and random testing will continue weekly, in addition to wearing double masks
  • Shopping centers’ readiness: air conditioning systems are disinfected with UV-C light, every touch point will be cleaned every 30 minutes, big cleaning and disinfecting are implemented every day
  • Encouraging everyone for hygiene discipline, and promoting a clean and safe society

          

BangkokCentral Pattana plc, operator of centralwOrld, CentralPlaza, CentralFestival, Central Phuket and Central Village, Thailand's first luxury outlet, is highlighting its leading position in hygiene and safety shopping centers by launching its highest level of safety measures: ‘Central Hygiene & Safe Plus+’ and confirming that its 21 shopping centers in the Dark Red Zones are ready for re-opening on 1 September following the government’s mandate.  Central Pattana aims to enhance customer confidence through its professional proactive prevention management in order to ensure the shopping centers are COVID-FREE.  Central Pattana is willing to strictly comply with the standards of the Ministry of Public Health in every aspect and encourage a clean and safe society.

Today (31 Aug 2021) Mr. Vallop Suwandee, Chairman of Advisors to Governor of Bangkok, Mrs .Wullaya Wattanarat, Deputy Permanent Secretary for BMA along with BMA management team are holding a field visit to inspect centralwOrld’s readiness and its safety procedures prior to the upcoming re-opening of Central Pattana’s 21 shopping centers in the Dark Red Zones including Bangkok and perimeter, Chonburi, Rayong, Nakhon Ratchasima and Hat Yai.

Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Central Pattana Plc., said:Central Pattana has initiated the ‘Hygiene & Safety’ master plan since the beginning of the pandemic and has created a 'new normal' standard.  We have never stopped enhancing and improving the measures according to the situation to ensure that the shopping centers are a safe place for public.  We have become the leader and set intensive standard safety measures for the Thai shopping center industry.  In addition, we have also assisted entrepreneurs: partners and tenants and many other career lines.  The re-opening of shopping centers under the government-controlled policies will help drive the economy and the country forward.  We hope that the situation in the country will gradually ease and recover by the end of the year.”

“Following the announcement of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on 27 August allowing more businesses in shopping centers to open, we are fully ready to open and to strictly comply with government measures.  As the leader in ‘Hygiene & Safety’, of which our master plan has covered five core ideas with 75 measures, we are determined to support everyone to build a clean and safe society together.  To continue to improve and enhance our safety measures, we are launching ‘Central Hygiene & Safe Plus+’ to ensure our shopping centers are a safe place and COVID-FREE as we have been a role model for both outstanding management and establishing new high standards for Thai shopping centers,” Dr. Nattakit said.

The ‘Central Hygiene & Safe Plus+’ measures are in line with the standards of the Ministry of Public Health.  The focus is particularly on social distancing as well as ensuring that employees are vaccinated and with 100% ATK screening on the first reopening day and weekly ATK screening afterward, systematic quarantine, all-time hygiene and safety.  We have received well cooperation from both shop tenants and staff in the shopping centers who are ready to cooperate and fully comply with the measures such as assessment through ‘Thai Stop Covid Plus’, and daily self-assessment through ‘Thai Save Thai’, following the procedures of the Ministry of Public Health in order to strengthen the confidence of visitors,” Dr. Nattakit added.

Highlights of ‘Central Hygiene & Safe Plus+’ measures include:

  • Extra Screening+: Vaccination and ATK screening

For customers:

    • All customers are required to scan QR Code through the ‘Thai Chana’ app before entering the shopping center and shops on every visit.
    • Everyone is encouraged to help create a clean and safe society by providing proof of one of the following: 1) at least 1 dose of vaccination, 2) ATK test results in the last seven days, 3) patients recovering from COVID in the last 3 months: show medical certificate, 4) RT-PCR test results in the last seven days, 5) daily self-assessment through ‘Thai Save Thai’.
    • Mask-wearing is ensured at all times, along with temperature measurement, and hand-washing with alcohol.

For employees:

- Employees who work in Central shopping centers have three options as follows:

1. Shop staff and employees of shopping centers must have at least one dose and proof of vaccination.

2. Employees who have been infected and recovered from COVID-19 must present a medical certificate not older than three months.

3. Employees who are waiting to be vaccinated must take the ATK test on the first day, and a periodic ATK test will be applied weekly.

  • On the first day of re-opening, 100% of employees must take an Antigen Test Kit (ATK) and a random ATK test is required every week.
  • Any employee with potential COVID-19 symptoms must stop working and immediately take an ATK test.
  • The employee's ATK test results must be certified by their employer.  The certificate is valid for three days from the date of the test.
  • ATK tests must be FDA approved brands only.

  • 100% Social Distancing+
  • 1 person per 5 m2 is allowed
  • Air-conditioned restaurants may allow dine-in customers 50% of the total space to reduce crowding; 75% of the total space for non-air-conditioned restaurants.
  • Food courts require a customer counting system to limit the number of users to 50% of the total space.
  • Advanced booking and online transactions are encouraged.
  • During break time, each staff must eat separately.
  • The distance between people on escalators is set to at least 2 meters, or four escalator steps.

  • Extra Deep Cleaning+ 
  • Disinfecting the air conditioning system in the shopping center with UV-C light at all times, controlling the air circulation system at 5-6 ACH and cleaning the air conditioning filters every two months.
  • Cleaning touch points every 30 minutes.
  • Big cleaning daily after the shopping centers are closed.
  • Shopping centers and shops must register for assessment on ‘Thai Stop Covid Plus’.
  • Employees of shopping centers and shops must perform daily self-assessment on ‘Thai Save Thai’.
  • Double Protection: employees are required to wear double masks or a mask and a face shield.
  • Eating or drinking while walking in the shopping center is not permitted.
  • Water quality checked at all times by controlling the level of chlorine in the water to at least 0.5 ppm.

The 21 branches of Central shopping centers in the Dark Red Zones will be open as usual from 1 September 2021 onwards, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM*; some businesses are open under certain conditions, including:

  • Restaurants, beverage outlets and food courts with air-conditioning are allowed dine-in customers at 50% of the total space and 75% of the total space for non-air-conditioned restaurants; alcoholic beverages are not allowed to be sold or served in the restaurants.
  • Beauty salons and barber shops are open for hair washing and haircuts by appointment only with no more than 1 hour per customer.
  • Massage parlors can be open for foot massage by appointment only.
  • Medical or beauty clinics are open by appointment only.

   

The 21 branches of Central shopping centers in the Dark Red Zones, centralwOrld, CentralFestival EastVille, CentralPlaza Ladprao, CentralPlaza Pinklao, CentralPlaza Rama 2, CentralPlaza Rama 3, CentralPlaza Grand Rama 9, CentralPlaza Ramindra, CentralPlaza Bangna, CentralPlaza Chaengwattana, Central WestGate, CentralPlaza Rattanathibet, CentralPlaza Salaya, CentralPlaza Mahachai, Central Village, CentralPlaza Chonburi, Central Marina, CentralFestival Pattaya Beach, CentralPlaza Rayong, CentralPlaza Nakhon Ratchasima and CentralFestival Hatyai will be open from September 1, 2021 onwards from 11:00 to 20:00 hrs.* (Supermarket open daily from 8:00 to 20:00 hrs.*)
