Bangkok – Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability within the tourism and hospitality sector through its collaboration with the Faculty of Humanities and Tourism Management at Bangkok University. The partnership formed part of the academic seminar entitled “Sustainable Tourism Best Practices”, held under the theme “Sustainable Tourism Starts Here”, with the aim of broadening students’ perspectives on sustainable tourism and inspiring the next generation of hospitality professionals.

On this occasion, Wuthisak Pichayagan, General Manager of Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, was honoured to be invited by the Faculty of Humanities and Tourism Management, Bangkok University, to serve as a guest speaker on the topic “Sustainable Hotel Best Practices”. During the session, he shared his professional experience, management insights and practical approaches to sustainability within the hotel industry, drawing upon his extensive experience in hotel operations and leadership.

The presentation covered a range of key topics relating to sustainable hotel development, including efficient resource management, environmental impact reduction, community engagement and the creation of shared value, as well as organisational development that balances economic, social and environmental considerations. These principles are increasingly recognised as fundamental components of the modern tourism and hospitality industry.

The seminar reflected the strong collaboration between academia and industry in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical experience. It provided students with valuable opportunities to learn directly from industry practitioners while enhancing their understanding of the evolving landscape of sustainable tourism and hospitality.
